► 2:04 Week That Was – A man applied for LTD after having been diagnosed with severe medical problems who was told by multiple doctors that he should not be working. He was told by his insurer that his medical information was insufficient. He was told to appeal his claim by the insurance company.
► 6:04 – RECENT SUCCESS STORY: I will be forever grateful that this firm saw my story on Global News and sought me out to offer their services to me. Sivan Tumarkin came to Barrie to meet me, as I have great difficulty driving as a result of my injuries. He, along with others at the firm were outraged over how I was being treated by my employer and he explained what the firm could do to help me.
► 12:12 – help@disabilityrights.ca – My wife was declined for long-term disability even though it has been recommended by her doctor. She has worked for this major corporation for 37 years and her problems started off as work-related but have become a lot more serious since then such that her psychologist says that she simply can’t work anywhere. Her insurer says that it’s an employment issue, not an LTD issue. Are they right?
► 3 Facts You May Not Know About Your Long-term Disability Claim
• 15:56 – When you apply for LTD, your insurance company allocates a reserve amount for the entirety of your claim.
• 19:32 – While insurers won’t admit they have “quotas”, they basically do!
• 22:31 – AI (Artificial Intelligence) has arrived!
► 25:05 – help@disabilityrights.ca – My husband was denied a year into his LTD claim. This happened after he saw a doctor from the insurance company. They said that his payments will end this coming June and that we can ask them to reconsider their decision if we provide more proof that he is disabled. My husband’s doctors already said very clearly that he can’t work because of mental health issues but the insurance adjuster told him on the phone that he is “not buying it”. What should we do?
► 28:54 – http://www.mydisabilityquestions.com – If I was denied LTD, and am currently in the process of appeal, does my Insurance Company owe me the payments that I was denied? The appeal process has been almost 5 months now.
